My Apologies

I apologize for the lack of posts in the last week. I will get back on it asap, I have been taking pictures but my camera doesn't seem to want to focus on the Kitties and I end up with fuzzy pics.

The girls are starting to gather more strength and are attempting to walk every chance they get. Jezebel isn't so happy about this because she has less control over them.

Like I said I will try and post some more pics, till then...

Jezebel decided to move her Kittens last night so I didn't get any pics I want to let her settle in, but I got a whole bunch today so I will post some of the good ones and one bad on I wish came out better. Well the kittens have names now and their eyes are starting to open so it's about to get hectic around here. The gray one is Josie and the Black one is Lilly, I think they are both girls hence the names.
Josie is a little comedienne she rolls around like a ball and is beginning to get a taste for cuddles she loves her neck being rubbed. Her eyes are a little farther open than Lilly's but I'm sure within the next day or so both girls will have their eyes wide open.
Lilly is quiet and content she loves to sleep anywhere warm, she will cuddle up to practically anything and sleep she's adorable.
Jezebel also loves to cuddle her babies her face in the pictures look like she might be a little upset that I am there but in reality she seems pretty relaxing I think the cameras flash makes her eyes squint, I have taken so many pictures over the last week and a half I think she is prepared for it now.
I will try and keep the blog updated more, enjoy the pics.

Happy Monday

Well it's been a week and these little bundles of joy keep growing their eyes aren't open yet but they are becoming little characters. The little gray kit loves to climb all over the black kit while it's sleeping (I hate to call them it but it will do until I decide on names) Grey Kit also rolls around, it entirely too cute.
Jezebel is doing very well she's a fantastic mother and she is also looking very healthy, her coat is soft and shiny and her eyes are bright. She looks very happy.
I didn't post over the weekend, but I have plenty of pics to make up for it. So enjoy and I will post some more tomorrow.

New Day

Good Morning,
This is just a quick post to say hi, Jezebel is proving herself to be a fantastic mother, she watches over her babies and feeds them and she seems completely content, I am so proud of her. This morning she took a break and watched TV with me whilst her babies slept soundly.
I hear them mew more often now but mostly when she jumps back in the box, they know what time it is!!
I will try and post more pictures this evening, I am trying to take pics every day and post them so their development is documented.

***UPDATE***

Momma and the babies are doing great, after a quick paranoid visit to the vets I discovered that little Jezebel only had 2 Kittens. Neither of them have a name yet but they are 42 hours old so I don't think it will hurt them. They are known as kits to everyone right now until they are old enough to distinguish the sex.
As you see in the pic they are already complete characters, they are hugging each other whilst Mom watches, they are also very quite I have only heard them Mew once since they have been born Which I am not complaining about.
I have finally caught up on my sleep, I found myself unbearably over emotional yesterday which was the cause of the quick vet visit, but I at least know that they are all doing well and all seem to be "in the vets words" doing very well. I will try and keep the pictures coming.

We Have Kittens

Good Morning,
Jezebel gave birth to her first Kitten this morning at 1.20am. I knew that she was getting close when I got home last night, she became more clingy than usual and when I settled down for the night she was circling and trying to sleep but was disturbed by the smaller contractions.
When the contractions slowed a little I was petting her gently to relax her and she fell asleep. I began dozing off to sleep but was awoken by a Jezebel in the face. She was looking rather uncomfortable but insisted she lay on my stomach and fall asleep again. I began dozing again, I was a little worried she would give birth on my bed but once again Jezebel woke me and as I opened my eyes and moved a little she jumped into her box. She kept peeking over the edge to make sure I was following... I knew it was time!
I moved towards the box with my pillows and relaxed letting my wrist lay gently on the edge of the box so she could acknowledge my presence. I began dozing in and out of sleep and I found myself waking in 10 minute intervals, she finally got me up for good at around 1am when she meowed rather loudly. I turned on the lights and woke myself up.
The first kitten was a little difficult for her, but she was amazing, she meowed once and the rest of the time she took it like a woman... I was so proud. I saw probably more than I wanted to but my presence seemed to relax her a little in the process so I stayed close.
When the first kitten was born she did everything she was supposed to I was amazed the first thing she did was clean the kittens face.
After she became preoccupied with the kitten I tried to leave her to it and I lay down in bed again but she meowed for me so I moved back to her side. I finally was able to get to bed at about 3:30am after kitten # 2 was born and I woke up at 5am for work. (It's gonna be a good day!) I think something may have spooked her because before I went to sleep she began labor again but stopped abruptly and huddled the birthed kittens into a corner, With the peace and quite of a weekday I hope she successfully births the rest of the kittens today. That's if there are more!
As for me I am going to be guzzling energy drinks all day and trying to stay awake.

Hello,
My name is Louise and I am documenting my cat Jezebels pregnancy and litter life on a blog. I thought it may be more interesting than my usual thoughts and philosophical junk.
Jezebel is a 2 year old American Shorthair, She has been pregnant for a while now, I'm not quite sure exactly when she's due, but I think it could be soon.
Over the duration of her pregnancy she has become increasingly more affectionate, she loves to lay on my stomach as I watch TV, just this weekend she spent most of Sunday cuddling with me and I could feel the kittens moving. I surrounded her stomach with my hands and I felt at least two of them wriggling. It's hard to explain what it felt like but it was an amazing sensation. It felt like they were doing somersaults in her stomach.
My roommates and I also have another cat and three dogs, so I have contained her in my room for a sense of security. She has begun to nest, I have provided her with two boxes and she still hasn't decided on one yet but she has began rearranging the two of them, so when the time comes she can make that decision.
I think that she is close to giving birth because her eating has slowed and the kittens move less and less, I read online that the kittens go quite before the birth. There are a lot of handsome looking cats in the neighborhood so I am very interested in what the kittens will look like, but I think poor little Jezebel is just ready to give birth already.
I will keep you updated.
